About Mommy Makeover

Restore Your Shape & Appearance After Child Bearing

Many women notice changes in their bodies post-pregnancy.

There are many areas of the body that can be addressed, most commonly the breasts, abdomen, waist, flanks, and buttocks. A mommy makeover is typically performed as a single stage procedure. The ideal candidates for a breast lift are women who have completed their childbearing and breastfeeding and who are also close to their ideal weight.

To reshape the breasts, a breast lift with or without augmentation (breast implants) will increase breast perkiness. Implants can restore or create a fuller breast contour.

To reshape the breasts, a breast lift with or without augmentation (breast implants) will increase breast perkiness. Implants can restore or create a fuller breast contour. To reshape the midsection, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) with or without liposuction tightens the abdomen while removing excess skin and fat in the flank area. This helps to regain a more hourglass shape.

Procedure Information

The recovery time for a mommy makeover is dependent on the number of procedures performed; patients are encouraged to get up and move around within the first 24 hours.

Gauze or bandages will be applied to your incisions. An elastic bandage or support bra will minimize swelling and support the breasts. A compression garment may also be used to control swelling in the abdomen, waist and buttocks. Drains may also be placed to remove excess fluids. Lifting over 10 pounds and heavy physical exertion is prohibited.

Dr. Matthew Novak sits down to tell us all about combination surgeries. Combination procedures is a term for when plastic surgeons combine two separate surgeries for better results. For instance, a common one is “the mommy makeover,” which is a breast surgery combined with body contouring. At Southlake Plastic surgery, we want to offer a convenient, all-inclusive experience. We can treat multiple different areas of the body ourselves, so you won’t have to go to multiple separate clinics. Plastic surgery can be a big decision, and we want you to feel taken care of. Come see us, and we can get started on a treatment plan for you!
