Dr. Novak earned his Bachelor of Science degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University. There he was honored to be named a NCAA Scholar Athlete as well as being named the NCAA Texas State University Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2010. He competed all four years on both his cross country and track teams.
Dr. Novak went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Texas McGovern Medical School located in the world’s largest medical center in Houston, Texas. While training in Houston and early in his medical school career, Dr. Novak became involved in plastic surgery research. After completing a breast reconstruction research appointment at the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Novak completed his surgery residency at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. As the only Level I trauma center between Dallas and Austin, Dr. Novak had broad exposure to all aspects of plastic surgery including general reconstruction, hand, breast, craniofacial, microsurgical, and aesthetic surgery.
Throughout his training, Dr. Novak was honored to have been accepted for numerous podium presentations at national plastic surgery meetings and publish his research in leading plastic surgery journals.
In his free time, Dr. Novak is busy raising two boys with his wife, Dr. Stephanie Novak, a practicing pediatrician. Dr. Novak continues to enjoy running and has a marathon personal best time of 2:53:27.
