The Best Aesthetic Treatments for Brides

On your wedding day, all eyes (and cameras) are on you. This is not the time to feel insecure!

No matter if you want to eliminate hyperpigmentation, tighten skin on your face and body, smooth out stubborn fat bulges, or fight lines & wrinkles, Southlake Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is the place to go to look and feel your best on your wedding day.

At Southlake Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, we’re the experts at helping you look your best—from any angle. Here’s a little more about the treatments we most frequently recommend to those on their way down the aisle.

Our top 9 pre-wedding treatments

Body Contouring with CoolSculpting

On arguably the most photographed day of your life, you shouldn’t need to worry about “sucking it in” or small lumps and bumps in your dress (boo, bra fat 👎). We’re sure you’ve been hitting the gym leading up to the big day, but if you could give your results a little boost, wouldn’t you?

Allow us to introduce you to CoolSculpting®! This completely non-invasive body sculpting treatment works to freeze excess unwanted fat on your belly, love handles, flanks, thighs, and more.

When to schedule:
For best results, we suggest our brides-to-be schedule a CoolSculpting consultation at least a year out from their wedding. This allows us to evaluate the treatment area(s), create a specific treatment plan, and allow the results time to appear. Since results improve over several months after your last treatment, you can make sure your body is in tip-top shape for your wedding.

We can discuss the need for maintenance CoolSculpting treatments around 4 months post-treatment for even better results.

Cosmetic Injectables

Botox®, Dysport®, fillers, and Kybella® fall under the cosmetic injectables category at Southlake Plastic Surgery & Med Spa. Let’s break these down for you:

Botox & Dysport: With Botox (or Dysport) injections, we can temporarily relax the facial muscles that contract when you make expressions like frowning, laughing, squinting, etc., to hide, prevent, and reduce the severity of the dynamic wrinkles that appear with these everyday facial expressions.

Getting Botox or Dysport as part of your pre-wedding beauty plan ensures you have smooth, wrinkle-free skin, despite all the smiling and other emotions you wear on your face on your big day!

Pssst…if you experience excessive sweating on your underarms or hands, we can also address this with Botox injections! Be sure to mention it in your one-on-one bridal beauty consultation.

Fillers: Dermal fillers are gel-like substances, usually made of hyaluronic acid (HA), that we inject below the surface of the skin to provide volume and support, smooth skin, plump fine lines and wrinkles that aren’t affected by Botox, and enhance the face’s natural contours.

Whether you want to plump your pout, highlight your cheekbones, define your jawline, fill in scars, or just get an overall more youthful look, our expert injectors take time to understand your concerns. We tailor each filler injection appointment precisely to what you need to look and feel your best.

Kybella: Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment that uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid (a substance found in your digestive system) to kill fat cells in the submental area and help our patients reduce or eliminate a double chin in a series of 3 to 6 injection sessions.

If you have extra fat under your chin that makes you feel self-conscious, stop considering how to put a turtleneck on your wedding dress and come to our injectors for Kybella! You’ll need to come in as soon as possible to ensure you display your full results come the wedding bells.

The best news? When we eliminate your fat cells with Kybella, they will not return! However, the remaining fat cells can still expand with weight gain, so it is important to keep up a healthy diet and exercise routine following Kybella injections.

BBL™ Treatments

Maybe you’ve noticed that years of sun damage have caught up with you, and you have some brown patches, freckles, or redness on your face and chest you’d like to tackle before saying, “I do.”

Broadband light (BBL) is an advanced light therapy treatment by Sciton that uses broadband light to reverse sun damage, uneven skin tone, and other signs of aging. One reason we rave so much about Forever Young BBL treatment is because it can treat a wide variety of conditions that can contribute to an overall dull complexion.

BBL addresses slow collagen production and cell turnover. It can even alter your skin cells’ genetic expression—meaning, with regular treatments, your skin can actually age in reverse at a DNA level.

To get clear, glowing skin in time for your wedding, we suggest scheduling a series of 1 to 4 BBL treatments 4 to 6 months before your wedding, depending on how many treatments you require to achieve your goals.

Lasers like Halo™ or ProFractional™

Suppose you feel bothered by dark pigmentation, uneven skin tone or texture, enlarged pores, or acne scars tarnishing your complexion. In that case, you’re likely an excellent candidate for Halo or ProFound laser treatments at our Southlake location!

The Halo Laser is the world’s first hybrid-fractional laser. It combines two types of wavelengths, allowing us to tailor the treatment to your unique needs. Halo can target and break up the excess melanin causing even your most bothersome skin discoloration. With a customized treatment plan plus effective skincare products and sun protection, we can greatly improve the appearance of, or eliminate melasma or sun damage-related skin discoloration!

The ProFractional laser uses an ablative wavelength to create micro-channels in the skin that stimulate the production of new collagen (think: aerating your lawn to keep it healthy!). This is our go-to laser for deep scars, moderate-to-severe wrinkles and lines, skin laxity, rough texture, deep sun damage, and more.

We recommend scheduling your Halo or ProFractional consultation at least 8 to 10 months out from your wedding day. This way, your laser specialist can evaluate your concerns and plan the exact number of treatments that will get you the best results in time to glow down the aisle 💒

Laser hair removal

It’s your wedding day, and if you want to wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care (and not worry about hair or razor bumps), you should!

In a nutshell, laser hair removal targets hair pigment (melanin) in the bulb of the hair follicle. When your hair follicles absorb the light, the energy converts to heat, destroying the growth centers inside. Laser hair removal at Southlake Plastic Surgery & Med Spa is a safe, effective process of permanently reducing or eliminating unwanted hair on almost any part of the body (except near the eyes).

During your bridal beauty consultation, we can evaluate the hair you’d like to eliminate and make a recommendation for a series of treatments with our state-of-the-art laser hair removal system.

HydraFacial™ MD

If you’re seeking the best pre-wedding facial, look no further than the HydraFacial! There is no skin type or tone that doesn’t benefit from HydraFacial MD treatments. It is one of the most universally skin-friendly treatments that exists.

This relaxing 45-minute facial includes a 3-step process:

  1. Cleanse & Peel – We perform hydradermabrasion (physical exfoliation) followed by a light chemical peel (chemical exfoliation) to clear away dead skin, oil, and other debris clogging your skin.
  2. Extract & Hydrate – Next, your provider will use the gentle HydraFacial suction tip to remove any debris and congestants stuck in the pores. Then we use the Vortex-Fusion tip to deliver intense hydrating skin products.
  3. Infuse & Protect – Finally, we deliver additional antioxidants and peptides to promote skin health and extra glow.

Immediately following a HydraFacial, brides experience brighter, softer, and healthier-looking skin.

No matter how far out your wedding date, it’s smart to schedule a HydraFacial every 6 weeks, including a few days before the big day (come by before your spray tan and after facial hair removal treatments like dermaplaning or waxing!).

SkinPen™ Microneedling

You may be frustrated with dull or lackluster skin that isn’t as plump, supple, or healthy-looking as it once was.

If you are seeking a minimally invasive way to address these concerns and gain more confidence in your skin, the experienced aestheticians at Southlake Plastic Surgery & Med Spa can help with professional microneedling!

Acne scars, uneven skin tone or texture, stretch marks, sun damage, and fine lines and wrinkles can be difficult—or even impossible—to treat on your own. If you are struggling with these skin concerns, medical microneedling may be the treatment you’ve been looking for.

There is no skin type or complexion that does not benefit from microneedling with our SkinPen device, though it is important to note that results are not instant, and we may recommend a series of treatments in order to reap the full benefits.

To ensure the best results for your big day, you should start planning for microneedling treatments at least 9 months from your wedding.

Dermaplaning Add-On

While many brides-to-be want to eliminate ALL their unwanted hair (especially “peach fuzz” on the face), unfortunately, laser hair removal is ineffective on unpigmented hair. Enter: dermaplaning!

Dermaplaning involves the careful use of a sharp surgical blade (scalpel) to remove skin congesting peach fuzz and dead skin, allowing your newest, healthiest skin cells to shine! Removing this hair also allows makeup to go on ultra-smooth, with no settling between the brows or over the lip. It also lets topical ingredients (like brightening serums or moisturizers) penetrate the skin deeper and more easily, maximizing effectiveness.

Dermaplaning is a treatment that pairs excellently with any facial treatment on this list. In fact, it can make the results of your HydraFacials even more amazing! Be sure to talk to your skin specialist about adding dermaplaning to your pre-wedding aesthetic treatments.

Medical-grade skincare products

You are what you eat. And similarly, your skin is only as good as what you put on (or don’t put on) day-to-day. You can come to us for all the pre-wedding aesthetic treatments under the sun, but if you neglect your at-home skincare routine and use ineffective or incorrect products, you’ll never get truly amazing results!

Our first pre-wedding skincare recommendation applies to your groom, bridal party, your future mother-in-law, and everyone else you know: SPF = BFF!

It’s 2021, and you know enough about the dangers of tanning beds to not even consider it as an option (we hope!). There’s also no excuse for not wearing a minimum of SPF 30 daily on your face, neck, decolletage, and any other areas regularly exposed to the sun. Don’t be afraid to layer SPF products either! We like to use our SPS Mineral SPF 40/E daily.

As far as which other products you should use daily, our skincare specialists are here to put you on the right track! During your bridal beauty consultation, we can use our skin evaluation findings to advise you on which products and active ingredients we recommend you incorporate into your wedding skincare routine.

We sell products in our office, and you can purchase them online for easy refills when you need.
