A facelift is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the face and neck. A full facelift procedure includes tightening the cheeks, the jowls (the skin around the lower jaw), and the neck. Ideal candidates for facelifts are non-smoking men or women over 40 in good overall health who are looking for a more youthful appearance.
Most patients take between 2-3 weeks off from work 0-6 weeks no strenuous activities, no lifting more than 10 pounds 3-5 weeks to feel and look back to “normal” and after photos will be taken at 6 months 6 weeks to ease back into all activities

The facelift can help you look younger and more well-rested but it will not change your overall facial appearance or facial structure. The signs of aging it helps with include sagging skin, deep fold of the skin between nose and corners of mouth, fat that has disappeared, jowls and loose skin excess fat of the neck that give one a double chin appearance or “turkey neck.”

Pain is minimal, yet everyone experiences pain differently. The facelift is considered more of an emotional procedure rather than a painful one because you can expect to be bruised and swollen for approximately 10 to 12 days.
It does not address the forehead, brows, or eyes. However, in many cases, facelifts are performed in combination with other procedures such as a browlift and/or eyelid lift.

This patient is 58 years old. She had a previous ‘lifestyle facelift’ at another surgery center.
Dr. Wan performed a re-do lower facelift and necklift with tightening of the deep tissues. Dr. Wan also performed fat grafting of the cheeks and forehead to give her a more youthful appearance. A full-face chemical peel was performed at the same time to reduce wrinkles.
