Restore Lost Volume With Sculptra in the DFW Area

Southlake Plastic Surgery

A woman is excited about the results from Sculptra in DFW

When most of us picture the telltale signs of old age, we picture gray hair, wrinkles, walkers, and wheelchairs. We don’t usually picture a loss of volume, even though we probably should.

Loss of volume is one of the most readily apparent signs of old age. A younger person may have strong features with taut, healthy skin, whereas an older person may appear more sunken and hollow. This isn’t anything to be ashamed of or alarmed by; it’s a natural part of the aging process.

But if you want to get back to the look that you’re used to, then you can sign up for a treatment in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with Southlake Plastic Surgery.

A Different Kind of Injectable

At Southlake Plastic Surgery, we offer injectables to restore lost volume in the face. One such injectable is the popular and effective Sculptra injection. When you receive an injection for Sculptra in DFW, you can take back your confidence.

In this blog, we’re going to explain how Sculptra works to restore your sunken appearance and volume loss. We’ll also let you know what to expect on the day of (and after) your treatment. But before we explain why Sculptra in DFW is a revolutionary injectable treatment, we felt that we should introduce ourselves.

Cosmetics You Can Count On

Southlake Plastic Surgery and Med Spa is a clinic designed to help everyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area feel better about the way they look. Some people are hesitant when it comes to signing up for plastic surgery, but we don’t think there’s anything to be unsure about!

In this day and age, we have the medical technology necessary to treat most any cosmetic concern or insecurity. Our treatments have been perfectly curated to treat some of the most common ailments. Rest assured that if you need help, we can probably offer it.

A Team That Cares

Another important part of what makes Southlake Plastic Surgery and Med Spa so effective is the team behind it.

When we started Southlake Plastic Surgery, we wanted to find a team that is truly passionate about the cosmetic field. We wanted a team of highly trained, educated professionals who get excited about all the good that aesthetic technology can do. The minute you meet with a member of our team, we think you’ll notice the difference.

Our practitioners are carefully trained and prepared to work with patients of all kinds. So tell us what you’re looking for, and we can make it happen. And don’t worry about surprising us—we’ve seen it all.

A Clinic for You

We knew that when we built our clinic, we couldn’t underestimate the importance of the building itself. The Southlake clinic is designed to be all at once impressive, relaxing, and approachable.

We could have designed a building that was more akin to what you’d see at a standard hospital, with sterile colors and bright overhead lights, but that’s not the point of Southlake.

While Southlake does focus on legitimate medical procedures, it’s also meant to be a place where you can close your eyes and relax. As a result, we were also sure to prioritize the development of a calming, disarming atmosphere.

Options for Everyone

When you work in the medical industry for a long time like we have, you begin to notice something important about people: they’re all different. As you meet more and more patients, you’ll begin to understand that none of them are quite the same.

Because of this, we wanted to prioritize variety among our treatments. While we’re big fans of common injectables like Botox, we knew that we needed to offer other treatments as well. These other injectables include dermal fillers for your lips and cheeks, but we also have Kybella for your double chin, and, of course, Sculptra in DFW.

Sculptra in DFW

We offer Sculptra in the Dallas/Fort Worth area because we’ve seen for ourselves how the passage of time can affect the appearance of your face. Many of our patients are unaware of how persistent exposure to the elements can cause their skin to lose volume.

And when those patients come to us, unsure if we have any treatments that can help, we’re always quick to point them to Sculptra in DFW.

How Sculptra Works

So, by now, we know that Sculptra is a great choice for anyone looking to restore volume in their face, but how is that possible? How does Sculptra turn back the clock to help you appear years younger? Well, the answer lies in collagen.

The Ins and Outs of Collagen

Understanding collagen is vital to understanding the process for Sculptra in DFW. Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the body. In fact, collagen might be one of the most important proteins there are. It makes up almost a third of all of our proteins.

If your body needs to form important biological components like bones, muscles, tendons, or skin, it will use collagen to build them. Unfortunately, your body doesn’t always produce the right amount of collagen. When we’re younger, our body makes a surplus of collagen, which is the reason that our skin is so naturally healthy.

But as we get older, we begin to create less collagen, resulting in sunken features. Luckily, with the help of a Sculptra injection, we can induce the production of additional collagen. Your skin will appear much healthier, meaning that you will appear much younger.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re quick to recommend Sculptra to our patients who want to restore lost volume because we’ve seen the results for ourselves. We’ve seen how it can make a patient’s face seem rejuvenated and lively. But our Sculptra recommendation often comes with lots of questions.

A choice for Sculptra in DFW

At Southlake, we know that a procedure works better when a patient is well-informed of the process. So we’ve compiled a list of some of the most common questions we receive about Sculptra in DFW from patients just like you.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is not a Hyaluronic Acid filler. Sculptra is a biocompatible biodegradable injectable poly-L-lactic acid which is a collagen stimulator.

Sculptra is injected into the layer of skin where collagen naturally exists and stimulates the body to produce more of its own collagen With multiple treatments, the results can last up to 2-3 years.

HA fillers temporarily fill the areas of deep wrinkles or volume loss. Sculptra is more of an investment that grows with time-it does not provide instant gratification as with fillers, but long term, it slows down aging in a way that outcompetes fillers.

In short, if you want a really impressive immediate difference, it’s done with fillers. If it’s “hard to put your finger on what looks good over the years,” it’s probably Sculptra.

Is Sculptra a walk-in procedure?

As is the case with many of our treatments, Sculptra is not a walk-in procedure. Before you schedule a Sculptra treatment with our team, you will first need to complete an in-person consultation.

The consultation process is one of the most important things we do at Southlake. When you enter our clinic, you’re trusting us with your well-being, and we don’t want to take advantage of that trust by recommending an unnecessary treatment.

We’ll ask you a few questions about your condition and complete an in-house physical exam. This way, we can get a better idea of which treatments will work best for you.

Does Sculptra hurt?

Oftentimes, our patients hear the word “injectable” and become worried that the Sculptra process will be uncomfortable or painful, and we understand.

Many people are uncomfortable around needles, but we don’t get any complaints about extensive pain or irritation. Even so, we want to do our best to minimize any possibility of pain.

Before the procedure begins, we will numb the treatment area with a topical anesthetic. This way, your pain will be minimized. It’ll be over before you know it. We also offer ProNox, a safe inhaled mixture of Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen to decrease your anxiety if you don’t like needles, and it will help you relax during the procedure.

How long does it take?

This is another common question we hear about Sculptra in DFW. If you’re like many of our patients, you’re busy, and our appointment is just another stop during your daily schedule. So if you’re worried that Sculptra in Dallas will throw a wrench in your itinerary, there’s absolutely no need to worry.

In general, you can expect the Sculptra procedure to take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Though Sculptra is an effective treatment, it isn’t a particularly in-depth one. We can complete the entire treatment over your lunch break. You won’t have to take time off work to see prominent aesthetic results.

How long does it last?

Sculptra boasts extensive, long-lasting results. Some of our patients are more than happy to schedule a treatment with short-term effects, but others expect the results of their cosmetic procedure to keep them fresh and rejuvenated for months or even years at a time.

If you’re someone looking for long-lasting results, then Sculptra in DFW may be what you’re looking for. When you schedule a Sculptra treatment at Southlake, you may be able to enjoy restored facial volume for up to 2 years. And from there, you can continue to see positive effects with the help of an annual maintenance treatment.

Will I notice side effects?

We strive to be open and honest with you about all aspects of your treatment. We don’t want to sweep any side effects under the rug. Luckily, Sculptra in DFW doesn’t have any serious possible side effects.

In the 5 to 7 days immediately following your Sculptra treatment, you may notice some adverse effects around the treatment area. Bruising or swelling may occur. These conditions are not permanent, and they should subside within a few days.

Massaging the treated area is important so that there is even distribution of the product in the tissue. It also ensures collagen production occurs evenly and not in clumps. Massaging the injected areas will also help any bruises go away faster.

Our rule is the 5-5’s: Massage the area(s) 5 times for 5 minutes for 5 days, and come back in 5 weeks for the next treatment, and don’t expect results for 5 months.

If you have any concerns related to side effects following your Sculptra procedure, be sure to relay them to your provider. They’ll do their best to answer any questions you may have about the treatment.

How much Sculptra will I need?

As is the case with nearly every question about our aesthetic procedures, the answer may vary from person to person. That said, the general rule of thumb is that a person will need a single vial of Sculptra for every decade that they’ve been alive.

Depending on your condition, you will likely need 2 to 3 injections in your initial round of treatments. We space these apart by about 45 days, so your body will have time to adjust to the treatment. We don’t ever want to over-inject our patients, because we want the results to appear as natural as possible.

Can I see your treatment results?

Yes you can! At Southlake, we don’t try to hide the effects of our treatments. In fact, quite the opposite. We think the results of our aesthetic procedures are something to show off, so we built out a results gallery. There, you can find before and after photos of patients just like you.
