CoolSculpting Elite is an FDA-cleared non-surgical fat reduction treatment in which your provider uses an applicator to deliver targeted low temperatures to your concern area(s). These low temperatures freeze the stubborn fat cells, which then die a natural death and are processed by your kidneys.

How does CoolSculpting Elite in DFW work?
CoolSculpting Elite uses cryolipolysis (fat freezing technique) to kill fat cells that haven’t budged from exercise.
Initial consultation
During your initial consultation, your CoolSculpting Elite specialist will chat with you about your treatment goals and take a look at your concern areas. This will help us determine how we can best customize your treatment plan! We’ll also answer any questions you have.
Mark and measure
Your trained CoolSculpting Elite specialist will mark and measure your treatment areas. This helps your specialist determine which applicators to use on each area and guides the specialist during the procedure.
Our new CoolSculpting Elite technology includes several applicators of various shapes and sizes to fit different parts of the body. 2 applicators can be placed at the same time, cutting treatment time in half! The technology’s versatility allows your specialist to further customize your treatment.
Place gel sheets
After you’re marked and measured, your specialist will place gel sheets on your treatment areas. This protects your skin from the cooling technology.
Treatment begins
Your specialist will apply the appropriate 2 applicators and start targeting your treatment areas. The applicator will use gentle suction to isolate and freeze the fat. Your treatment time will depend on your areas. The average time for treatment is about 35 minutes.
Massage the areas
Once your specialist has completed your CoolSculpting Elite treatment, they will gently massage your treatment areas to break up the frozen tissue. At Southlake Plastic Surgery Med Spa, we use an advanced technique—the Zimmer Z-wave (radial pulse therapy)—to massage the treated areas, which helps to break down the fat cells more consistently. This technique is more effective than massaging the areas by hand and even results in more fat loss and less post-procedure discomfort.
Your body removes fat
Your body will continue to process your frozen, dead fat cells over the course of a few weeks. Eventually you will see a reduction in body fat in your treatment areas!

How many sessions of CoolSculpting Elite in DFW will I need?
The number of sessions you will need varies depending on the amount of fat in the treatment area, the size of the area, and how many areas we’re treating. At Southlake Plastic Surgery, we typically recommend somewhere between 4 to 8 sessions for best results.
How long does a treatment session last?
Your session time will depend on your treatment area(s). With our newest CoolSculpting Elite technology, treatment time is much shorter! Expect it to take around 2 hours or less. It could take a little longer; it all depends on the number of areas you want treated. goals.
What can I do during my treatment session?
After your CoolSculpting Elite specialist applies your device, you can sit or lie back and relax! We have a TV in our treatment rooms and you are welcome to watch a show or a movie on any of our streaming platforms.
Other patients read, use their phone, work on their computers, and even snack.
Does CoolSculpting Elite in DFW hurt?
Discomfort is minimal and varies from patient to patient. Many describe it as a light to mild discomfort that’s very tolerable.
Some patients have described the sensation as light tugging, pulling or pinching. We compare the feeling at the beginning of the procedure to the feeling of putting your hand in ice cold water. Initially it’s uncomfortable, but then it becomes numb. This is what happens when the applicator is placed and freezes the treatment area; since the cold is numbing the area, there is no need for anesthesia.
Pro-Nox: A pain anxiety solution
If you are worried about pain, we offer an anxiety management solution for all non-surgical treatments. Pro-Nox provides relief from anxiety, allowing you to handle pain and keep calm.
Pro-Nox is 50% Nitrous Oxide and 50% Oxygen and does not affect consciousness at all. You are able to control your own intake throughout the procedure by breathing through the mouthpiece as much as you need.
The effects of Pro-Nox wear off after a few breaths of normal air.
Is there downtime after CoolSculpting Elite in DFW?
Nope! You will be able to continue on with your day as usual without treatment. Your body takes care of recovery for you by processing the dead fat cells.
Are there side effects?
You may experience some mild swelling, bruising, increased skin sensitivity, or minor numbness. These effects will subside within a few days!

Follow these aftercare tips for optimal results and comfort:
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Try gentle exercise, such as walking or stretching to get your blood circulating
- Apply a warm-compress to the treatment area as needed
- Take ibuprofen if needed
When will I see results?
Because your body is continuing to remove the dead fat cells after treatment, results from CoolSculpting Elite in DFW are gradual. Results time varies, but it can take between 4 and 6 months to see full results. But once the body removes those fat cells, they’re gone for good!
Can I gain weight back in the treated area?
If you gain weight, your remaining fat cells may get larger in the treated area, but you will not regain more fat cells.

Why doesn’t diet and exercise do the trick?
If your diet and exercise isn’t doing the trick for your extra fat, know that it’s not your fault! When you’re doing fat burning exercises, you’re shrinking your fat cells—not destroying them.
